Critical Appraisal of a Qualitative Research Article A critical appraisal of the article by Batch Windsor (2015) was completed to assess the value of this qualitative research study. This was accomplished through the Critical Appraisal Skills Programme (CASP). The CASP tool is used to evaluate and clarify if these proposed research topics have merit. The tool resulted in the assessment that this article is useful, particularly within the nursing profession. Nonetheless, portions of this article that could have been further developed. Within the Nursing 1028 course, ethnography in the healthcare setting has often been examined. This article used an ethnographic framework to generate further comprehension of how nurses communicate, the culture, and disparities. The Critical Appraisal Skills Programme allows for a comprehensive and structured method to evaluate research articles. This evaluation tool is able to use the first two questions to determine if the other questions should be examined. The first question of the CASP tool is to evaluate if there is a well-understood assertion of the objectives of the research study. The researchers were able to find a gap in the literature. Prior studies had not been conducted on how the use of ââ¬Å"causal labourâ⬠to create inexpensive employment could impact teamwork dynamics. This was deemed important by the researchers because it could prevent these workers from forming collaborative bonds within the workplace.
